Overall improvements
New benefits to students and instructors:
- Calendar — it is now embedded in the app and allows clear visibility relevant to each week/date courses.
- Notifications can now be supported within the application rather than only through external apps such as Google mail.
- Health-pass and Health Docs showcasing the CDC vaccination card and associated barcode. Everyone that has been fully vaccinated has unrestricted access to socially distanced classrooms.
- Each user has a profile that they can edit.
- Help is now within the app rather than as an external web guide.
New features to the Students app
More benefits specific to students’ needs:
- Students can switch to online a specific course. They can switch back to in-person as many times as they would like. The system will not schedule them while a course is switched to online.
- Each course info is now decorated with colors that indicate its status.
- Timeline — now students can see all past activity from managing their class attendance.
- Waiting-list — now students can see the classes that they have been wait-listed.
- Statistics — students can see their attendance statistics aggregated across courses.
- QR code scanning is now supported by a PIN.
New features to the Instructor app
More features specifically for instructors:
- Instructors can now manually mark a student as attended.
- The list of students in the roster has now embedded very clear status information per student.
- Instructors can download student attendance to their laptop.
- Instructors have access to aggregated per-course analytics.
New features to the Institution Administration app
For the Institution Administration:
- We are able to now accommodate a cohort based attendance policy in addition to the policy where the app scheduling algorithms determine an in-person class attendance.
- We are now able to accommodate multiple merged courses that convene into the same classroom.
- As always all policies are controlled by the university and guarantee an equal opportunity for in-person attendance for all students.
